Look at these pictures which evidence that fireworks in Glen Cove caused a fire perilously close to homes and off a well-used public hiking trail. The danger of fireworks is real, folks. Neighbors and pets are terrified, and there are reasons other than that for fireworks enforcement to be taken seriously. Fireworks contribute to pollution in our sensitive waterways, cause injuries AND deaths at times, either directly or by resulting fires, and we live in a vulnerable area for such hazards.
