Sheriff Contract

Vallejo City Council approved the $11.2M contract with the Solano County Sherriff given the emergency status of VPD’s shortage of badged police officers.  On Tuesday, June 24, there is a Supervisors meeting where a vote will be taken.  We urge Solano residents to urge their supervisors to vote in favor of moving forward with this agreement for the sake of our county’s largest city.

What can you do?

  1. Attend and speak at the County Supervisors meeting starting at 9am on Tuesday, June 24.  Details on this link here.

Re: Please Vote YES on the Sheriff Support Contract with City of Vallejo

Dear Supervisors:

I am writing as a resident of Solano County and a stakeholder in the City of Vallejo’s future to express my strong support for the proposed agreement between the Solano County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Vallejo for law enforcement assistance.

This contract represents a practical and urgent solution to address Vallejo’s ongoing public safety crisis. With staffing levels critically low and response times unacceptably high, the proposal to add 17 deputies to provide coverage for half of the city’s patrol beats is not only justified—it is necessary.

Vallejo residents deserve consistent, effective, and professional policing. This partnership ensures that essential services will not lapse while the city works to rebuild its police department. It also offers accountability, given that the deputies will be deployed under specific contractual obligations and oversight.

I urge you to vote yes on this measure—not just as a matter of emergency response, but as an investment in public trust and regional safety. Our communities are interconnected, and when Vallejo is stable, all of Solano County benefits.

Thank you for your leadership and consideration.

Respectfully,
