Vallejo City Council approved the $11.2M contract with the Solano County Sherriff given the emergency status of VPD’s shortage of badged police officers. On Tuesday, June 24, there is a Supervisors meeting where a vote will be taken. We urge Solano residents to urge their supervisors to vote in favor of moving forward with this agreement for the sake of our county’s largest city.

Re: Please Vote YES on the Sheriff Support Contract with City of Vallejo
Dear Supervisors:
I am writing as a resident of Solano County and a stakeholder in the City of Vallejo’s future to express my strong support for the proposed agreement between the Solano County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Vallejo for law enforcement assistance.
This contract represents a practical and urgent solution to address Vallejo’s ongoing public safety crisis. With staffing levels critically low and response times unacceptably high, the proposal to add 17 deputies to provide coverage for half of the city’s patrol beats is not only justified—it is necessary.
Vallejo residents deserve consistent, effective, and professional policing. This partnership ensures that essential services will not lapse while the city works to rebuild its police department. It also offers accountability, given that the deputies will be deployed under specific contractual obligations and oversight.
I urge you to vote yes on this measure—not just as a matter of emergency response, but as an investment in public trust and regional safety. Our communities are interconnected, and when Vallejo is stable, all of Solano County benefits.
Thank you for your leadership and consideration.
Respectfully,

For whatever reason the city of Vallejo seems to consistently disappoint with making any progress towards creating a safe and clean city where people want to come. Right now the COV is known only for its filth, homeless camps, abandoned cars and CRIME. If you, the city cannot figure it out at least provide the citizens with some support to fight the crime in this city, that YOU PEOPLE APPARENTLY DO NOT HAVE THE INTELLIGENCE OR MEANS TO FIX.
I am a long-time resident of Vallejo, CA. I vote Yes for Sheriff Support contact with City of Vallejo.
This is absolutely necessary and would be a peace of mind for all Vallejo residents.
As a Vallejo Resident, on the outskirts of the City, in Glen Cove, and the Largest City, within the County, Vallejo should be on the top of the list, to receive any Safety or Security Funds, we Approve the monies, for a Contract, if they justify where the funds are actually going, i.e. as through Audit trail of funds. We are concerned residents & property owners of 35+yrs, and have seen little or no change in progress, just a lot of deterioration and blight, which can cause Safety & Security Issues. We are concerned for all Safety Issues within Vallejo, it is hard as seniors, to participate in any activities within Vallejo, if you do not feel Safe. This causes lack of funds, to all the establishments i.e. Stores, Restaurants and any other Facilites within the City. People within their own Cities, should Feel Safe & Secure and be able to utilize establishments within their own cities, without going to other Cities to feel Safe which entails funds going to other Cities within their Counties. WE VOTE YES, Cory & Lesley Pavone
